Budapest has the reputation of "Paris in Eastern Europe" and "Danube pearl". The most important places of interest in Budapest are located on the banks of the Danube River. On the steep rocky mountain on the Buda side of the West Bank, there are freedom monuments and castles.
At the foot of the mountain is Gellert bathing beach, and its downstream is the main building of Budapest University of technology and economics. There is Buda Castle on the mountain to the north of the castle. The castle is now the National Library, the Hungarian National Gallery and the Municipal Museum. Sandor palace beside the castle is the residence of the president of Hungary.
